My most memorable volunteer experience was hosting a free summer camp for teenagers, promoting the idea of sustainable development goals and introducing Taiwanese tea culture in depth. I planned the event alongside my friends and I served as the team assistant throughout the course of the event. There certainly were tons of problems that we faced along the way. For us, the biggest obstacle is definitely finding the source of funds for the event, we managed to overcome it by reaching out to several organizations and our own school. I think the most important part of this experience is that I epiphanized that though the fundamental idea of volunteering is the desire to do good for other people, it is also important to recognize the personal gains such as satisfaction and having a sense of purpose.
