Brayden’s service story. More than just a whistle
I am using English. I love to be engaged with the community in multiple ways and one of the ways I do it is volunteering. The reason I volunteer is so I can help people out who need it out of sheer joy and not money. One of the ways I volunteer is reffing younger kids basketball games. When I was first in 8th grade, I was asked to help reffery a baskebtall game and I said yes and ever since then I volunteer to help ref different sports. Although it is fun, there are always challenges and the biggest challenge is dealing with parents. As you know parents can get very involved in the game and when you aren’t a true reffery and the parents start yelling at you, it can startle you but I I am used to it and have a big voice so I can calm them down easily. Overall volunteering is a great way I can reach out to the community because it is something I enjoy and comes from the heart.
